   * International advance sale of conference tickets has started

The Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair is making the 8th of February 2011 in Nuremberg the day of knowledge: Spielwarenmesse eG organizes the 2nd Global Toy Conference on the Tuesday of the fair, when visitors and manufacturers get the latest know-how on toy safety, sustainability in the toy industry, social media and online trading. Fair participants can now order conference tickets in advance for 109 EUR via our representatives in the respective country. The price of conference tickets for visitors and exhibitors at the ticket desk at the fair is 149 EUR. Conference tickets are valid only in conjunction with an entrance ticket or an exhibitor pass for the International Toy Fair. Low-cost travel packages including travel, accommodation and tickets for the conference and fair are available for visitors. All information about the conference programme, tickets and various travel packages is available on the Internet at www.toyfair.de/conference.

The conference programme will bring the participants right up to date on the burning issues in the toy industry. Manufacturers and the trade still need more information on implementing the Toy Safety Directive that comes into force in July 2011. The European Commission will answer questions in the panel discussion on “The principles and implementation of the current safety assessment of toys”. Sustainable and safe toys go hand in hand. The conference participants are briefed on consumer trends and demands and receive tips on how manufacturers and traders can meet these requirements.
Online selling is becoming a second mainstay for more and more companies. The lecture on “Selling toys online made easy” shows toy traders and manufacturers how they can optimize their sales with the Internet. After this, speakers present the specific business opportunities actually offered by social networks.

The 2nd Global Toy Conference is sponsored by Bureau Veritas CPS Germany GmbH, Hoffmann Company KG, Intertek Consumer Goods GmbH, MEHANO d.o.o. and TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH. Cooperation partners for the knowledge event are the German Association of the Toy Industry (DVSI) and Toy Industries of Europe.

The Global Toy Conference is a major element of the knowledge presented at the International Toy Fair. The fair from 3–8 February 2011 also offers many new products and a host of contacts. ToyKnowHow, ToyInnovation and ToyNetwork are the three success factors from which visitors to Nuremberg benefit.
